A warm, character-filled west Edmonton diner with a real old-school feel, friendly service, deeply satisfying comfort food, and portions so generous they make the whole visit memorable for all the right reasons. For a fuller picture — Donna’s Eatery, Edmonton, West End / Winterburn Road area offers the kind of hearty, old-school diner experience that feels harder and harder to find. There is a real diner feel here — the sort of place that instantly brings to mind a movie set or classic truck-stop eatery, but in the best possible way: full of character, welcoming energy, and a sense that people have been enjoying satisfying meals here for a long time. The food itself fully delivers on that feeling. It was tasty, hearty, and deeply satisfying, with portions so generous that calling them generous almost undersells it. On this visit, the egg salad and clubhouse sandwich took the cake. Both felt substantial, comforting, and exactly right for a place like this — the kind of food that leaves an impression and makes a return visit feel easy to justify. The service adds to the experience as well. Friendly, approachable hospitality suits this kind of setting beautifully, and it helps the whole meal feel relaxed and memorable for all the right reasons. Nothing feels overdone. It simply feels like a place that knows what it is and does it well. Its location is another strength. Conveniently accessible within minutes of Yellowhead Trail, Anthony Henday Drive, and West Whitemud Drive, Donna’s Eatery is an easy west-end stop from several parts of Edmonton when the craving is for something filling, flavourful, and full of old-school charm. Altogether, this is a wonderfully hearty local eatery with a real diner feel, friendly service, great food, and the kind of generous portions and character that make it easy to look forward to coming back. At a glance: - Real old-school diner feel - Setting feels right out of a movie - Friendly service and memorable atmosphere - Tasty, satisfying comfort food - Exceptionally generous portions - Egg salad and clubhouse sandwich were standout picks

Update Good service. Food came out fast. Good quality. I went to try it,as recommended by someone I know. I love the diner look. The menu and seating are good. I order a Braley soup and a bagel breakfast sandwich and a side of hot chocolate. In the manu it states what's in you sandwich incl the sauce. I ordered it with no tomatoes. While I was waiting I asked 2 ppl working there when and where I can get the hot chocolate. The first lady didn't reply. The 2nd time I got up to ask the guy who was unpacking the drinks, where is my hot chocolate as my order arrived at the table. So he went to ask the cashier himself. She said "ohh milk" I said no I ordered a hot chocolate, I asked if you had hot chocolate, the cashier said yes. I got no hot chocolate but a milk chocolate she I pulled out the fridge. I got an order with mustard on it that was not in the menu of what's in the sandwich. It was soppse to be mayo. The barley soup was good but had only 1 tiny piece of beef, smaller then a sugar cube. After all of tht, I got a sandwich made as it should. A cold chocolate milk, not a hot chocolate I ordered. Therefore, the cashier did not understand my English. I did not have a great 1st time experience with my order but I had a good time overall. I will eat there again but will not order take out, as my order may be sent wrong. Thanks!!

Searched online for "West Edmonton Beef Dip" and Donna's came up as the top suggestion. It didn't disappoint. The sandwich was packed full of meat and the jus was very tasty with the flavour of thyme coming through. Moo-lah couldn't decide what to order between the beef dip and the clubhouse (his usual go-to) so he went with the club and we split so we could each try both. I guess I might have started to convert him on my beef dip quest and now he's starting to say "I'll have what she's having." We had to get boxes to take things home. I was accidentally given fries when I had ordered the Beef barley soup as my side. The soup was excellent. Lots of beef, good flavor and didn't taste like the thyme flavoured jus (which I am still thinking anout days later), so it was nice to experience some different flavours. We also purchased some pie that we couldn't eat because we were too full, so it went home and we enjoyed it later with some ice cream. I toasted up some of the leftover beef dip the following day and melted some mozzarella on it to serve Moo-lah it with the remaining fries. It was still great despite not having any of the jus left. I enjoyed the leftover soup. We will definitely be back. We were eyeing up some of the pizza at a table nearby us and definitely want to give that a try.

We love it here! Came in this evening with a party of 7. Sam was so kind & attentive, pulled a couple tables together for us & set us up quickly. We way over ordered & completely under estimated the portions (impressive portion sizing) & had some food to take home with us, Food was amazing! Everything was fresh and all of it came out within a timely manner. The restaurant itself has a very welcoming, warm environment & it’s neatly decorated. I’d also like to give a shout out to Marty & Sam, as they were not only welcoming & kind but they really add to the experience, this is one of my new favourite hidden gems & I will be back!

This is a great place for a working man to get food!! I eat here almost everyday. Breakfast muffin is delicious. Better than anything muffin sandwich from other fast food places. Pizza is awesome. Everything I ate here is very good. Side note the lasagna you get from the second counter is a little overcooked, dry and could use a little more sauce. Vegetables like onions and maybe green peppers in the lasagna would be nice. Pizza slices could be a little bigger but they are loaded with toppings. Very busy place at lunch so if you want something to go better to order ahead of time. Ambience is nice. Prices are a little high but they give you more than enough food for your money. Overall this is a excellent place for a working man or woman to get food. One last thing..... After work I go here sometimes to get food to go for my dinner. There is a added bonus. Liquor store right next door called Winterburn Liquor Store with a very good selection and reasonable prices!!! I grab my food at Donna's and grab my beer at Winterburn Liquor Store. Think about it...a nice relaxing night after work eating delicious food and drinking a cold six pack of suds. I will definitely keep coming back. Keep up the excellent work!!!

I love a good truckers diner. And this one is clean, comfortable and easy on the eyes One of my favorite places to eat. GREAT food, great service, lots of variety to eat. Wished my tummy was bigger, cause their portions are huge! Come hungry! We ate dry ribs, cookies, chicken wings, fries& gravy, famous club house sandwich and the pizza! 10/10! Can't wait to go back!

This place is amazing! Off the beaten path, we would have never found it if we were just driving around... but my husband has heard so many great things about it, so we thought we would check it out. The food- to start was delicious- and plentiful! So plentiful. Marty introduced himself to us when he came to check in on how our food was, and we left with so much more than we ordered! We were awestruck by the kindness and generosity of this place! I have never experienced that- EVER! In a world full of small businesses, these guys outshine! Well done to Marty and team- and we will be back when we visit Edmonton again!
